Lei Lei Socks ("we", "us", "our") is a small sock brand founded and designed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit leileisocks.co, create an account or place an order, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in by text message, your phone number.
  • Order details: billing and shipping name, address, email, phone number and the items you buy.
  • Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.

Information from Google or Facebook sign-in

If you choose "Login with Google" or "Login with Facebook", that service shares your name, email address and an account ID with us so we can create or find your account. We never receive your Google or Facebook password, and we do not post anything on your behalf.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical data such as your browser, device type, pages visited and approximate location (from your IP address).
  • Cookies that keep you signed in, remember your cart, your saved items, your currency and language, and help us understand how the site is used.

Payment information

Card and payment details are entered directly with our payment processors (Stripe, PayPal or Square). We never see or store your full card number.

How We Use Your Information

  • To process, ship and support your orders, including returns and exchanges.
  • To create and secure your account, including sending one-time sign-in codes by email or text message.
  • To reply to your questions and requests.
  • To send order updates and, if you subscribed, news, new designs and offers. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it, including measuring our advertising.

We do not sell your personal information.

Who We Share It With

We share only what is needed with trusted service providers who help us run the shop:

  • Payment processors: Stripe, PayPal and Square, to take payments.
  • Shipping carriers: to deliver your order.
  • Hosting and email: our web host and email provider, to run the site and send emails.
  • Text messages: an SMS provider, to send sign-in codes if you choose text message.
  • Sign-in providers: Google and Facebook, only if you choose to sign in with them.
  • Analytics and advertising: Google (Analytics, Ads and Merchant Center), Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and site statistics tools, to understand site traffic and measure ads.

We may also disclose information if required by law. Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessed under local laws.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored in your browser. We use them to keep you signed in, keep items in your cart and saved items, remember your currency and language, and measure site traffic and advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, such as the cart and sign-in, may stop working.

How Long We Keep It

We keep account information while your account is open. Order records are kept for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes (generally up to 7 years under Canadian law). Messages and other information are kept only as long as needed for the purpose they were collected for.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Access and correction: you can view and update your details in My Account, or ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Marketing: unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
  • Withdraw consent: you can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits.
  • Deletion: you can ask us to delete your account and personal information (see below).

Deleting Your Data

To delete your Lei Lei Socks account and personal information, including any data received through Google or Facebook sign-in:

  1. Email hello@leileisocks.co with the subject "Delete my data", from the email address linked to your account.
  2. We will confirm your request and delete your account and personal information within 30 days.

We may keep limited order records where the law requires it, such as for tax purposes. You can also remove Lei Lei Socks from your Facebook account under Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, or from your Google account under Security → Third-party apps & services.

Security

The site uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to personal information to what is needed to run the shop. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Children

Our site is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
